What if We were Paid in Prunes

What if We were Paid in Prunes

by Bob Grant

What if we were paid in Prunes?

Might create some different tunes?

For all you made you had to eat,

A change for life that would be sweet.

Greed would have its own revenge,

Those without – it would avenge.

Gas abounds but not for cars,

Crystal switched for Mason Jars.

The more they get the more they run

from evening moon to setting sun.

The Common Man could just sit back

and have no fear for what they lack.

If paid in Prunes the world would know,

As the Greedy Ones would always show.
